Human, Technology & Organisation (HTO)

In our research group, we study the relationships and dynamics of Human, Technology & Organisation (HTO) with the goal of creating knowledge that supports sustainable development and utilization of ICT.

The group's expertise in eHealth and the proliferation of eHealth services can also have a major impact on the healthcare industry, making it more accessible and efficient for patients and healthcare professionals. The digital work environment concept and its application to promote healthy work can also have a significant impact on the well-being of employees. The group's methods and techniques for redesigning work with new ICT can increase productivity and job satisfaction. And the group's focus on inclusive design and design for all can improve the usability and accessibility of products and services for people with disabilities. The group's work on developing expertise can lead to improved training and performance for professions such as long-haul truck driving, where cognitive and decision-making abilities are critical. Additionally, the group's research on human factors and ergonomics can lead to the design of safer, more efficient vehicles.

Overall, the research group's work on human cognition, decision-making, and knowledge elicitation have the potential to improve the safety, efficiency, and well-being of people in a variety of industries and contexts.

Areas of interest include:

  • Human cognition, decision making, and knowledge elicitation
  • Designing for stimulated reflection and continuous development of expertise.
  • Design of complex IT systems for long-haul driving
  • Human factors and ergonomics
  • eHealth and the proliferation of eHealth services.
  • The digital work environment concept and how it can be applied to promote healthy work.
  • Methods and techniques for the redesign of work that highlight how new ICT must be designed to support the desired change.
  • Inclusive design and design for all.
  • Work engagement

We strive for swift and wide dissemination of our research through various outlets ranging from high-impact journals and conferences to open platforms and social media applications.
