Department of Information Technology

Collaboration

The Department of Information Technology collaborates with educational institutions and the local community by being involved in activities such as study visits and SciFest. Students, teachers and researchers collaborate with both industry and society, covering a wide range of areas through their work with graduate theses, guest lectures and research collaborations.

SCHOOLS & THE GENERAL PUBLIC

SciFest - SciFest is an annual three day science festival for children in Uppsala with more than 8000 visitors. At SciFest 2017 the social robotics lab organized an exhibition were the children could learn how to program and control a robot or participate in a real scientific experiment. Our student volunteers engaged children between the age of 8 and 18 in interactions with three NAO robots and Furhat.

HIRE OUR STUDENTS

UU Careergate is the preferred career network for students and graduates at Uppsala University. The site provides employers opportunities to post positions or manage their brands towards our students and graduates.

Kompetensguiden has been developed by the Uppsala Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students (UTN) in dialogue with representatives from the university. The aim is to offer prospective employers a structured picture of the training programs in technology and science available at Uppsala University (in Swedish only).

Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students’ career fair Utnarm is organized once a year, on the Thursday during week 45. Here students can meet companies and organisations and discuss possibilities for collaboration on future thesis projects, summer jobs and employment after graduation.
