News
- 2012-12-23: Next DB exam is given March 5 (1DL300 period 3). Another re-take exam is given on April 10. The teachers are not involved in the registration.
- 2011-12-22: As the exams are anonymous, no appeals are accepted before the student office has made the exams available (and de-anonymized). Please be patient until Jan 9 2012. Notice that grades can be changed after that date if you appeal.
- 2011-12-22: All exams are graded and reported to the student office. Overall pass ratio: 69% (frist 85%, it3 86%, master 60%, x3 45%). Results [frist IT3 master X3]. Results will be reported to UPPDOK no later than Jan 9 (so that you can get CSN). Please contact the student office if you want to look at your exam. Exams are expected to be available on Monday Jan 9. Make sure that you follow the procedure if you want to appeal. /EZ
- 2011-12-11: Q: What is the required points for grade 4 or 5? A: 28 and 34, respectively. We reserve the right to lower these numbers.
- 2011-12-11: I posted the exam cover sheet.
- 2011-12-08: I just got the question "Is SQL important for the exam?" I cannot comment on details of the exam. However, SQL is central for database technology.
- 2011-12-07: I just got the question "will the exam cover more than what is covered by the reading instructions?" There is no exact answer to that question! Reading instructions is a recommendation. The exam will cover topics listed in the course syllabus, and it is my duty to ask exam questions that I see fit. However, I believe that your chances to pass the exam are good if you have read and understood the course material and followed the three assignments.
- 2011-12-07: In order to make the discussion on indexes more meaningful, I provided two basic examples of B-trees and hash tables on the last lecture (notes are not provided here). Those examples might be useful on the final exam. Those who did not attend may want to read PR chapter 22.18...22.22 or EN chapter 17.1...17.3 in order to understand the basic concepts and to be able to compare hash tables to B-trees. /EZ
- 2011-12-06: The final exam questions are given in English. You may answer in Swedish or English. /EZ
- 2011-11-09: Schedule is updated /EZ
- 2011-11-03: All questions regarding registration is handled on Studentportalen, by the Student Office (Polacksbacken, building 4), or by your study counsellor. The teachers do not handle any such administrative queries. /EZ
- 2011-10-21: The course starts 2011-10-26 at 15.15 in room Pol_2146. /EZ
