Instructor: Amie Hauer, MSS, PhD Candidate

Course Language: English

Course Prerequisites

  • B-Level knowledge or equivalent.
  • Basic Java programming (Ground-level programming knowledge understanding expected at B-level. We will not be requiring programming in the assignments this term, but students may do a programming assignment, if they choose, for their final group project. )

Course Program

The following anticipated schedule is subject to change, but provided as a tentative look-ahead.

Beginning: Anticipated lecture at the beginning.

Middle: After the on-campus lectures, the course will be administered online until presentations in August. There will be a short two-week break in July with no due-dates.

Conclusion: Students will reconvene in middle-August to present their Final Group Projects to the class group (time and location being determined)

Some business concepts are introduced to bring real-world relevance to the course concepts. However, it is not expected that students have a strong business background. Any introduced concepts will be explained, at a level that students can apply the concepts, and use their IT-background as a scaffold to the business principle used in class.

It is possible that the assignment descriptions and quizzes will be available before the start of the course so if students want to work ahead, they may do so. Quizzes will be administered online, and anticipated that it will be allowed for students to have up to two attempts. For more detailed information about the course schedule, contact the instructor. Assignments will be handed-in via assignment drop-box or email. More information available on the first day of class.
