Applied Scientific Computing

Spring 2009

The prequisites for this course are some knowledge of partial differential equations and their numerical solution and some background in structural mechanics and fluid mechanics.

The course is given in Swedish or English depending on the preferences of the audience and starts on Monday, January 19, 2009, at 10.15 AM in room 1113.

The written examination will take place on March 16.

The purpose of the course is to apply numerical methods to the solution of problems of engineering and scientific interest in structural mechanics, fluid mechanics, chemistry and materials science.

The examples in exercise solving session 1 (E1) will be 4.1 and 4.2 on p 434 in the handouts from Dahlquist-Björck.

The course evaluation is open at http://evaluering.ibg.uu.se/it . Login to the system with your UpNetS account and password A.

The results from the written exam and the compulsory exercises are reported to Studentportalen ( http://www.studentportalen.uu.se ) today March 23.
