Degrees

The graduate education may be concluded with either the licentiate degree (after normally two years of full-time study) or the Ph.D. degree (after normally four years of full-time study) with the licentiate degree as a step towards a Ph.D. Being accepted to graduate studies gives the right to continue to the Ph.D. exam (on condition that the studies proceed according to plan). Thus the applicant does not have to decide already on application what the final exam will be.
