Kort presentation

Detta stycke finns inte på svenska, därför visas den engelska versionen.

I am a postdoc at the Division of Visual Information and Interaction (Vi2), Department of Information Technology, and currently involved in Handwritten Text Recognition (HTR) research.

My research interests broadly span computer vision, machine learning and fuzzy set theory. The bulk of my doctoral work involved solving the problem of human action recognition and detecting ongoing human action as early as possible i.e. after it starts, but before it finishes.

About me

I am a postdoc at the Division of Visual Information and Interaction (Vi2), Department of Information Technology, Uppsala University. I did my undergraduate studies at University of Delhi, India and my postgraduate studies at VIT University, Vellore, India. I joined the Center for Image and Signal Processing, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in January 2012 as a research intern, and from September 2012 till June 2016, continued in the same research group as a Research Assistant. I started my Ph.D. in September 2013 with specialization in computer vision and fuzzy set theory from the University of Malaya, Malaysia under the supervision of Dr. Chee Seng Chan, and obtained the degree of Ph.D. in Computer Vision (Computer Science) in October 2016. My background lies in computer vision and fuzzy set theory.

Education

Ph.D. Computer Vision (Computer Science), University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2016.

M.Sc. Computer Science, VIT University, Vellore, India, 2012.

B.Sc. (Honors) Computer Science, Hansraj College, University of Delhi, 2010.

Forskning

My research interests broadly span computer vision, machine learning and fuzzy set theory. During my doctoral work, the main research problems I worked on include image and video data analysis, motion tracking, action classification, early human action detection, and scene image understanding. The research area that has left the deepest impression on me has been early detection of human actions. The bulk of my doctoral work involved solving the problem of human action recognition and detecting ongoing human action as early as possible i.e. after it starts, but before it finishes.

As of May 2017, I am actively involved in Handwritten Text Recognition (HTR) research area as a postdoc under Anders Hast.
