Maria_Berge.jpg

Maria Berge, Chalmers
I am a PhD student at the IT University of Göteborg, which is part of Chalmers University of Technology and Göteborg University, and I am doing research on "Learning physics in groups: a multidisciplinary perspective on creating and participating in discursive spaces of learning". My research group focuses on university students, studying the discursive and social aspects of group work, and how the physics content is constituted in group discussions.

Jonas_Boustedt.jpg

Jonas Boustedt, Högskolan i Gävle
Jonas Boustedt is a lecturer in Computer Science at University of Gävle. Since 1998 he has been teaching courses mainly in object-oriented programming (OO with Java and C++) and embedded programming. Before his position as a teacher, he worked for some years in the industry as a developer of embedded telecom systems and was doing hardware as well as software. Now he is a half-time PhD-student in the pedagogy of Computer Science. His thesis deals with aspects of the relationship between "programming in the small" and "programming in the large" seen in the light of OO problem solving processes. He is currently writing a report on students' experiences of OO-concepts in a situated context, i.e., the study is about students' conceptions of the Java interface during their work with a development task in an advanced software system.

Jonas lives with his wife and three children in a small village nearby Gävle. Apart from working on his old house, he is a coach for his daughters' innebandy teams in his spare time. He enjoys sports, such as jogging, playing landhockey (innebandy), swedish baseball (brännboll) or whatever. Unfortunately he is not very good at it, but enjoys it because of the social and physical aspects.

Peter_Dalenius.jpg

Peter Dalenius, Linköpings universitet
My name is Peter Dalenius. I am 30 years old and I work as a teacher at the Department of Computer and Information Science at Linköpings univeristet. I teach introductory programming, mainly in Lisp, but I am also involved in other courses like formal logic and programming language concepts. In my role as director of undergraduate studies I spend a lot of time trying to keep things together, working with both administrative and pedagogical issues. I tend to think a lot about different ways of using my computer to support both my own and my students' learning processes.

Past hobbies include singing in a male voice choir and writing scripts for student comedy theater (sw. spex). Current hobbies tend to focus around our new house and garden. I like making lists of things and I think that 'structure' is a beautiful word. My favourite weed is Euphorbia helioscopa and I collect Agatha Christie detective novels.

Gunilla Eken, Mälardalens högskola
My name is Gunilla Eken and I am a technical physics graduate of the Royal Technical University in Stockholm have had a varied career. I have worked in industry as an engineer at ASEA (before it became ABB) within the Relays production unit, at the Patent unit and at the Research and Innovation unit. During the last years I have worked at the Mälardalens University in Västerås in a university adjunct position. Most recently I have taught courses such as Data Structures and Algorithms, while earlier I was the study rector within the Institution of Computer Science. I am an active member of the Swedish union, Civilingenörs Förbundet where I am a part of the education committee, "utbildningsrådet". In my private life I enjoy gardening and my family.

Lars_Ericsson.jpg

Lars Ericsson, Uppsala universitet
My name is Lars Ericsson and my current position is Director of Studies at the Department of Engineering Sciences, Uppsala University (UU). Our teaching activities are concentrated towards engineering education and we take part in most of UU's engineering programmes.

Since graduating with a MSc in Engineering Physics from UU in 1991 I've been working most of the time at the Dept of Engineering Sciences, first as a PhD student and subsequently as teacher and researcher before entering into more administrative and managing tasks as Director of Studies. In 1997 I took a year off from the university and worked as a consultant within computerized measurement and control systems. I still keep my company and take part in industrial projects to maintain and improve my competence as an engineer.

Tim Heyer, Karlstad universitet
Tim Heyer is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science at Karlstad University, Sweden. He holds a PhD in computer science. His teaching interest includes theoretical, project, and cross-disciplinary software engineering courses. His research concentrates on how university students (primarily computer science and engineering students) learn from each other and how this form of learning can be encouraged, controlled and improved.

Lars_Hakansson.jpg

Lars Håkansson, Blekinge tekniska högskola
My current research interests are in active noise and vibration control, adaptive signal processing, signal and vibration analysis. I have written several book chapters, published or will be published in international scientific books. My publication involves several invited articles and articles in scientific Journals as well as more than 30 conference paper publications and 23 are invited. Also I am a co-inventor of several patents.

I am responsible for the Adaptive Signal Processing course and the Sound and Vibration courses at the department of signal processing, BIT. During my years of teaching I have carried out substantial developments of the theoretical and experimental parts of these courses. Based on my experience within research my major emphasis in course development and education has been on improving the bridge between theory and how it actually works in reality and to transfer this knowledge to students.

Andreas_Jakobsson.jpg

Andreas Jacobsson, Blekinge tekniska högskola
My name is Andreas Jacobsson (770224) and I work as a doctoral candidate / assistant lecturer (Sv. "Universitetsadjunkt") at the Department of Systems and Software Engineering at Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH). I teach students in the areas of information security and risk analysis within the subjects of computer science and software engineering. I am responsible for several courses and I am also the program director of a 120 credit point education in Security Engineering (Sv. IT-säkerhet). In addition to ordinary work place duties (such as teaching and research), I am one of two (PhD) student representatives in the Faculty Board and in the Teachers´ Review Committee at BTH. On my spare time I like to play football and floorball, read books and travel.

Vanja Lindberg, Blekinge tekniska högskola
My name is Vanja Lindberg, I am 32 years old and I live in Växjö. As an undergraduate student, I studied mathematics and physics at Växjö University and graduated with a master in Applied mathematics in 1998. After my graduation, I worked at the Department of physics at Växjö university, where I taught both at the regular physics courses as well as physics at the engineering programs. In the year 2000 I was admitted as a PhD student in Theoretical Physics, and I graduated on the 1st of April in 2005.
