Abstract

This paper reviews studies relevant to the problem of distributed decision making (DDM). DDM is defined as the problem of coordinating action among agents with partially overlapping models of the task. It is found that there are few studies relavnt to this problem. Most of the work of interst comes from work in distributed problem solving within AI. It is suggested that this work provides concepts that could prove useful, even though the actual results are of limited relevance to DDM.
