Abstract

An interview study was performed at an intensive care unit for thermal injuries to test the hypothesis that the work of different categories of personnel can be described and understood in terms of different time scales, which form a hierarchical control system. The results support the hypothesis and suggest that a decision support system must contain different kinds of information for different categories of personnel.
