Abstract

New interactional devices and technologies do not constitute a general panacea for the many problems that are associated with human interactions with computers. The software development does not either imply any advances for supporting human automatisation of the interpretation of input elements in today's existing style guides. Often ambiguities in command interpretation demand a high cognitive workload to categorise functionality. In this paper we emphasise the importance of designing consistent software input elements in the development of domain specific style guides.
