Abstract

This paper reviews studies releveant to the problem of distributed decision making (DDM). DDM is defined as the problem of coordinating action among agents with partially overlapping models of the task It is found that there are few studies relevant to this problem. Most of the work of interest comes from work in distributed problem solving within AI. It is suggested that this work provides concepts that could prove useful, even though the actual results are of limited relevance to DDM.
