165 1995 Jarmo Rantakokko jarmo@tdb.uu.se Object-oriented software tools for composite-grid methods on parallel computers Abstract We have developed software tools for composite-grid methods. The tools facilitate the programming of PDE solvers on structured composite grids. They raise the level of abstraction which makes the code easier to read, modify and maintain. Moreover, the tools are parallelized in SPMD-style. Code written with the tools become portable over a wide range of computers. We have implemented a Navier-Stokes solver and executed the code on a SUN Sparc 10, IBM SP2, and Intel Paragon XP.
