Orientation for the Masters in Image Analysis and Machine Learning at Uppsala University 2021

Please note that this page is subject to change and that further information will be added to this page before and during the orientation week. Check for updates regularly.

INTRODUCTORY MEETINGS

Please, regularly check the updates regarding general information about the introductory meetings on this page.

The 2021 Autumn term will start with introductory meetings during the last week of August. The exact schedule will be announced in due time on this page. The introductory meetings will be conducted via Zoom.

We will start with a mandatory roll call and will then provide relevant information about your chosen programme and the individual courses. We will help you to select your courses, but also how to find out more about studying in Uppsala. This will also be a good opportunity to meet with your new teachers and classmates.

If you, for whatever reason, cannot attend the roll call meeting on August 23, please inform the programme coordinator, Nataša Sladoje, as soon as possible, and in any case before the meeting.

Enrolment/Registration Formalities and Individual Study Plans: During the orientation week each student will have a 20-minute meeting with the programme coordinator Nataša Sladoje or the programme student advisor Olga Kaj to discuss the study plan and finalise enrolment. These meetings will be organized via Zoom and will be scheduled during the roll call. The individual meetings are expected to be held on August 25-27.

For the individual meeting, all students need to have a device with a camera and have to be able to show a valid ID (e.g., a passport). Students with a provisional (conditional) offer of enrollment, need to upload (as soon as possible) the necessary documents to the University admissions system.

You need to complete your course selection (the individual study plan) by August 27 the latest. We will work together to meet this deadline. You may already start with preparations by taking a look at the syllabus of the Master's programme in image analysis and machine learning here and in particular the courses offered within the program here. Please, note that you are not expected to register for the courses before we discuss your selection at the individual meetings.

Student account: To participate in the programme it is very important that you have a student account. You can find information about how to get a student account here.

Some courses may have, to different extent, elements of online teaching, especially during the first weeks, but this does not mean that they are designed to be followed fully online. Please, note that your physical presence in Uppsala is expected from September 6 the latest, to ensure that you can be registered to the programme. If you, for whatever reason, cannot meet this requirement, please inform the programme coordinator, Nataša Sladoje, as soon as possible!
