Genie Lab Environment
This laboratory exercise is based on the Genie lab environment. Genie is a Linux system that runs off a bootable DVD and is compatible with most PC computers. The system is pre-configured with everything you need to do the laboratory exercises. You can download an ISO-image below and burn it to a DVD that you can run at home if you wish. You will find instructions for the routing lab below.
There will be two scheduled lab sessions in which a computer lab will be set up to run Genie. This means that you can choose to do the labs at home or during the scheduled lab session hours. Note, however, that you won't be able to run Genie in our computer labs outside the scheduled hours. During lab sessions there will be supervision available, something that you naturally will not get at home.
The Genie ISO-file (External link) is accessible from within the university network.
If you want to run Genie at home, then burn the above file to a DVD make sure your computer is set to boot from DVD.
If you do the labs at the scheduled hours, you do NOT need to bring a DVD yourself.
