Preparing for the presentation

- On request from the student, the Subject Reviewer decides if the thesis is ready enough for the student to be allowed to present.
- The subject reviewer books a time for the final presentation and submits a preliminary thesis to the examiner. The thesis reviewer and the examiner should both attend the presentation. The Supervisor is not required to attend the presentation.
- After the presentation, the student revises the thesis with feedback from the reviewer until the reviewer assesses that the thesis is good enough for the student to pass the course.
- The reviewer notifies the thesis coordinator by email that the thesis has been approved. The approved thesis should be attached.
- The thesis coordinator sends the thesis (application) form to the reviewer again. The reviewer signs and returns the form.

Presentation of Thesis Projects

How is the presentation evaluated

The evaluation of the presentation and opposition is described here.

How to book a presentation

The Subject Reviewer needs to book the presentation slot an agreement with the student. A preliminary version of your report, approved by your reviewer, must be available no later than two weeks before the presentation. Next, the Subject Reviewer should send an email (copy to the student) to exjobb.it.uu.se to request a presentation slot. The email should include the following student information: personnummer, first and last name, and the code for the thesis course. In the email, the Subject Reviewer should confirm that the report is ready for presentation. The slots available are listed below.

The presentation should be given in English or in Swedish and it should be approximately 30 minutes long. If you plan to present in Swedish, please inform the thesis coordinator in due time, because this affects how your opponent is selected (if applicable).

How to request an opposition slot

Time for opposition will be booked in connection with the booking of your presentation. Some hints for doing opposition. You should confine your question in the opposition to technical questions on the content of the thesis topic. If you have questions or comments about the written style, layout or presentation of the report these should be given to the author by email.

When your courses are completed, you should apply for a degree certificate in Ladok. The date of your degree will be the one when your degree is issued at the Graduation Office.
