I work with finite element methods, specifically ones that use Hermite interpolation polynomials as basis functions. These allow a higher level of derivative continuity to be enforced in any numerical solutions obtained from the method, which can lead to some nice properties.
My current research is focused on the wave equation, since using Hermite elements can lead to significantly relaxed constraints on the method chosen for time integration.
