Course internationalization project
The IT in Society course is an Open Ended Group Project having international university collaboration where students and faculty from the US and Sweden interact with a university hospital in Sweden on issues concerning the introduction/change/use of Information Technology (IT) in the hospital system. Currently in this project, students and faculty from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Indiana, USA work with students and faculty from Uppsala University to produce a real-world, real-time solution.
The project has an indirect effect of making technology education more integrated with societal aspects, thus making the education more relevant for a larger student population. Another positive consequence of our work, as we see it, is that the "traditional" technology student will acquire for him/her relevant communication skills.
